I feel better about the bearings now.
I will close off the cylinder into some compression before storing then, hopefully that will minimize anything dropping...

I figured the clear was a transfer tape to be used over the decals, however I've never used a transfer tape before. Specifically how does one make the "transfer".

I ordered an Edge 540 II also. Maybe we'll do some formation 3D next season. I'm breaking in my Da-50 on a 27% Extra 330 right now. Looking forward to the BME!

Could you be specific about which driver version you installed? I installed the latest drivers from soundblaster.com Are you using an older version that works better?

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this sound issue :)

Hopefully more will post with similar experiences and a patch can be applied, or at least a workaround that someone has found.
