RE: Starter Boxes

I got this starter box for my .12 O.S TR and it works great. I orginally had the Duratrax 1/10 scale starter box but it couldnt turn it over at all. The tech guy at my LHS uses this starter box and...

RE: fuel Choose

Does anyone use Sidewinder? I always use Sidewinder Race blend 20/12 and it seems to work very well. It has a built-in after run oil and it never gums up my engines. I opened up one of my engines...

RE: HPI's new air filter

This air filter flows much better then the O.S 103 air filter my engine came with and also the larger element helps extend the time between cleanings.

And this air filter is in HPI's "newest...

HPI's new air filter

For a while now I'v been looking for a new air filter for my O.S .12TR and the motor savers and other ones seemed too small and I might as well have just kept the stock O.S filter. But today I was...

RE: WD&ARO

1. Usually I just tear my cars and trucks all down and just use soap and water to clean each part but with my off-roads, I just give them a blast of air to clean the loose dirt off after every few...

RE: Engine Choice

An SG crank has the pilot shaft integrated into the crankshaft (which makes everything balanced) so it gets rid of the separate pilot shaft which can cause the crank to become unbalanced and make it...

RE: NTC3 shocks

I got the O-rings with the aluminum shock caps but not with the shock bodies. I did the same thing you did and just bought the aluminum bodies and used the other parts from my old shocks. On my RTR...

RE: MY RS4 3 TYPE SS IS GONNA BE CRAZY FAST

That engine is gonna have serious power....hopefully HPI offers drivetrain hop ups.

Oh and I have a RD Logics pipe on my NTC3 and its very durable and stands up a lot better during the races...

NTC3 shocks

Am I able to use the FT aluminum shock bushings (part# 1780) with the aluminum shock caps? I was wondering if aluminum to aluminum would cause wear and even make the shocks perform worse because of...

RE: NTC3 engine question

If you have the RTR or pullstart side exhaust kit, then the engine will drop right in. I'm not sure what you mean by "normal shaft" but the RTR comes with an clutch nut for an SG crank. If the O.S...

RE: ntc3 tires

I run 38's all around. People have recommended a harder tire up front like 40 or 42 but for the tight track I run on, 38 seems to work best.

If your going to be racing, ask the people that are...

RE: non stripping NTC3+ screws.

I ordered a set of stainless screws from them for my NTC3. They looked really nice and were organized very well. I didn't have a problem with the fit or anything UNTILL I started replacing the...

RE: Engine Tuning Question

A 1/4 of a turn is too much to do all at once. I'd suggest leaning the engine out 1/8 at a time and run the car for a few high speed runs after you make an adjustment. If it still seems sluggish...

RE: turbo chargers

A fuel pump is used to provide more of a steady steam of fuel to the engine while it accelerates and decelerates. Since the fuel pump uses block pressure, whatever rev range its in, it will keep the...

RE: turbo chargers

You only make 1 point in your argument. Yes, your right about how any positive pressure of the air will go out the exhaust port due to the port timing but you just can't say "THEY CAN'T WORK!" and...

RE: IS THE IDLE SCREW THE SMAE AS THE LOW SPEED NEEDLE??

The idle screw is NOT the same as the low speed needle. On your engine, you have 3 separate adjustments:

High Speed Needle: controls the amount of fuel going into the engine at 1/2 to full...

RE: Hi, my name is Richard, and I am a nitro-holic. (more pics)

Would you be able to use NTC3 pinion gears? You have good size spur gears to get you to high speeds but the HPI pinions are limiting you. I think you could get an extra 5-10mph if you used the big...

RE: what truck is this?

Its the Duratrax Overtrive ST. Its a 4WD ST with a 2 speed and reverse and its got the Velocity .17. Its been discontinued for a while now. I'v had mine for 3-4 years and its not a bad truck, IMO....
