RE: Radio problems with mustang PTS...

I would love to do this, but unfortunately I leave for school in 2 weeks. And my brother leaves for school Monday and would like a chance to fly the plane again. If I order a new 6v battery it...

RE: Radio problems with mustang PTS...

I think I have figured it out! See if you think this sounds reasonable. When I added the flap servos, I noticed that the flaps needed a lot of force to hold them in the down position. The flap...

Ok, thanks for the quick replies. I will try testing the old glow plug and replacing it, and get back to you if that doesn't work.

RE: flying by myself? complete newb.

lol, I guess you missed my reply. Read my previous reply directly above your reply. Despite the tone of my previous reply, I actually would recommend getting an instructor, I posted my story to...

RE: flying by myself? complete newb.

I am also a relative newbie to the hobby, ive only been flying for a year or a little more. I taught myself to fly RC, despite strong recommendations against this by everyone online. It is possible....

RE: Buying a plane on ebay...

Well as it turns out, now that Ive bought a new mustang PTS MkII, the seller responded to my questions. With several nice high resolution pics of the actual plane. And he said that all of the...

RE: Buying a plane on ebay...

So the seller had good feedback, 99% positive. But he wasn't responding to my questions. He had posted only stock photos of the plane from hangar 9's site, no actual photos of his individual plane....

Buying a plane on ebay...

Im the guy who was trying to decide what plane to get in another thread. Sort of settled on a Mustang MkII PTS. If you get a plane on ebay, and there is not a lot of information about its...

RE: E flite Apprentice vs Hangar 9 Alpha...

Yeah CGRetired is right you guys have been a great help as always. If I hadn't asked for help on here, I would have probably ended up getting an apprentice, which is probably a fine plane, but I...

RE: E flite Apprentice vs Hangar 9 Alpha...

To be clear, if I get the mustang (will hopefully come to a final decision in the next few days) I fully intend to use all of the "training wheels" from the get go, and seek instructor help. Even if...

RE: E flite Apprentice vs Hangar 9 Alpha...

I plan to add a servo from my crashed alpha to make the flaps functional, will this help bring the landing speeds more in line with a trainer, or at least with a sport plane? And yes, I will...

RE: E flite Apprentice vs Hangar 9 Alpha...

The electrostick is interesting, but like most of the big electrics, too pricey. Its $219, and I would have to add a spektrum dx5e system for $100, lipo battery for $100, plus a balancer for...

RE: E flite Apprentice vs Hangar 9 Alpha...

I had looked at the PTS mustang, and for the most part it does look like a nice plane. I did not notice it has dx6i, I figured it was dx5e, that makes the $399 price a little easier to swallow...

RE: E flite Apprentice vs Hangar 9 Alpha...

Ok I am beginning to like the idea of a sporty non-trainer plane, possibly using at least some old equipment from my crashed alpha. Especially since this plane is essentially meant to quench my...

RE: E flite Apprentice vs Hangar 9 Alpha...

As for using parts from the crashed alpha, I have considered it. The engine is broken. A couple pieces, I believe one of the needle valves and some other little piece, are broken off. I have those...

RE: E flite Apprentice vs Hangar 9 Alpha...

I know the planes are probably very different, as you say. But that's exactly why I'm asking about the differences in there capabilities. All else equal I would prefer to go electric, for...

So I made a post on here a while back, I was thinking about getting an alpha trainer dsm2. I had one last summer, but eventually crashed it. I currently have some parkzone Embers, which are great,...

RE: A few questions on a new Alpha trainer...

Thanks for all the help guys. I really like that voltwatch onboard battery monitor thing. Most transmitters have battery indicators. Every plane should probably have one of those. However, on the...
