RE: Discussion - Tony Nijhuis Sunderland

Scotty

The 8x6 are too much for the 1300kv version plus the current will stress the LiPo's.
You have so much power there you will be able to prop hang it :D

The 8x4 are a much better...

RE: Discussion - Tony Nijhuis Sunderland

Hi Scott

It's looking very good and the engines sound very sweet and balanced.
Please do me a favour and cut off the excess arms on the servos and paint them white, it'll look a whole lot better...

RE: Discussion - Tony Nijhuis Sunderland

Hi Bob

I'm currently trying to build a small (about 1m, 39") Depron Do-18, It's proving to be quite difficult as I am not used to building planes so small and also from Depron.
My aim is to...

RE: Discussion - Tony Nijhuis Sunderland

Hi Scotty

I find the weight comparison questionable plus the analysis of power.

From OS's Website an OS10LA weighs 3.95oz (112g) and the 15LA is 4.87oz (138g) these weights are without...

RE: Discussion - Tony Nijhuis Sunderland

Hi Scotty

Nice work, I'm sure you will be glad you did the modification when you come to fly it. Just make sure it's slow when you use them.

Went flying today with Brian - It was chuffin...

RE: Catalina PBY2 - Budd Chappell

Hi Scotty

The model is of a good size and should easily be able to accept the small extra weight of a couple of servos. The flaps will really slow it down and make it more realistic in flight.

RE: Discussion - Tony Nijhuis Sunderland

Hi Scotty

Flaps are easy, just think of them as one way ailerons. If you top hinge them with film covering this makes a neat solution.
As to the width, just make them as wide as the widest...

RE: Discussion - Tony Nijhuis Sunderland

Hi Scotty

Wouldn't worry too much about the weight, my P-47 weighs 9.5lbs and a wingspan of 65" and it lands like a fun fly, very slowly.
Have you thought of fitting flaps? this would really...

RE: Discussion - Tony Nijhuis Sunderland

Scotty

You're gonna spoil it by putting those big and ugly IC things in it, should have gone brushless, you could have got away with a nice big battery in the middle, could have done you a deal...

Hi Scotty

Should have gone electric, instead of those ugly smell, oily things :D

RE: PICS of the ESM Composite Tigercat

Hi Kinverflyer

Thanks for the info so far.

I am about a credit cards width from ordering one of these beautiful felines.
I would be electrifying it with on-board sound system.

Do you...

YS140L initial start problem

Hi

I bought a YS140L about 18 months ago but have only recently finished the plane.
The very 1st start went without a problem and I put 3 tanks through it all in the same day without any...
