You can use a bit of toe-out(if you have adjustable turnbuckles) to get more out of your steering...

The only other suggestion I have would be the MIP super diff(if you haven't done it already)....

I think I found the problem, I've been using the base screw as my mid range and vice-versa...

If what he says is true, "only 1/2 gallon though it", you shouldn't have to do anything to that engine. The MT-12 is barely broken in after that much fuel...You'll want to take it apart and check...
