RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

The nylon mounts do flex some( if you grip the engine by hand & move, the rails will give some). As long as overall vibration is acceptable, leave it alone, the glass filled nylon is tough enough, if...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

If I was still into glow, I would try a Flinton model. I got to fly one, wasnt set-up for 3-D but it was the lightest, nicest tracking model of that size(.60-.90) I've seen, Inspire if I remember...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

If your rolling harriers & KE need a little working on, the Velox will get you there. It does nice walls & harriers too. If it wasnt for bigger 3-D planes I would be flying mine a lot more. I have a...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Maxair going out of business or just the end of the Velox? I still have one flying & one N.I.B, only complaints is the weight(which doesnt affect flight performance much) & brittle wood , other than...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Spoileron alone didnt do it , it needed the wing tips, they extend to trailing edge of ailerons.

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

I dont know if you can see them in my video or pictures, I have small wing tips plates on my Velox, they did help with the rocking a lot, I also use spoileron mix. I dont like to use spoileron mix...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

I will, I might get to fly it again soon as my friend is a little rusty. I'll tell him I need to rate it for 3-D on RCU. I posted some of my flying videos here on RCU, the Velox is file:...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

The wing tube fit must be a common thing, I had to sand also. Went for a tail touch on Sat, instead I had to abort & land from a 2 foot hover. I had no throttle when I needed it, found out that my...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

If you were looking at My Models Page, thats a different mfg., I think its World Models maybe, there wasn't a picture available from Maxair. Look at my Photo Gallery, there's a shot of the Velox in...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

There's my Avatar1!! took a lot to get it there, most are larger than what's allowed. I did a Google search for 80x80 avatars. Want a laugh?? Do a Google search for "Batgasm Avatar". I found it by...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

I've got the engine running good enough to try, but have not gotten any lower than 4-6 ft so far, it really like to TR fast and thats whats setting me back, plus the windy weather. I have some picks...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Or you could offset the mount to the right. My second Velox finally arrived after Fed-up-Ex failed to deliver 4 times. The box had a huge hole in the bottom, I could almost stick my head in & look...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Give us the weight when finished, I'm at 9.3 lbs , heavy, but it hovers w/OS 1.20AX. You might want to add tri-stock to the gear block on top, it can come loose with a hard landing.

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

No tail touch yet with the Velox, I cant believe how effective the tail is in hovers,I'm still "overcontrolling" with 100% expo on rudder & elevator! Guess I'll have to cut back on travel when...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

For me, the prop selection has been most important to that aspect of hovering. I had trouble dropping in hovers with 6 pitch props on 2 & 4 strokes, when I went to less pitch(5 for 2 strokes) and...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Wow, you are very generous! If I sell a .40-.90 size plane for $40-$50 I figure I "gave it away". Anyhoo, thanks for the response. I'm trying to figure out some things and appreciate the input. We...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Must be the gassers(giant scale) are doing it for you now? Are they that good you can give away a sweet flying glow? My biggest hang up is flying DOD 3-D and wind , seems like all my glow planes...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

I have forgotten but it needs a tiny bit of down elev to hold inverted, so it could go a little more tail heavy.

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

I noticed my Velox tucks to the belly at the bottom of KE loops( a lot of rudder & throttle at that point)otherwise, its barely noticeable. This plane is sooo stable on its side!!!!!

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

I use screws mainly to hold the canopy in place while the glue is setting, removing them is optional. I wouldnt sweat the edges being thin, the glue on the edges will hold it together(RC 56 or even...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Hey Pawel, just looked at your vid-very good! I like the wing tips, looks better than the supplied ones. My Velox is 9.25 lbs with OS 1.20AX, it has enough to pull out of hovers, just enough. I had...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Good, now I want to build the Fusion again, thanks for straightening out the "Con-Fusion".

As for the thrust line on the Velox, mine had a little right thrust built into the firewall, I always...
