You can use a Sphere with a Novak motor. That was the preferred setup at my indoor track last winter.

I have had both. MM with 5700 and Sphere with 1-Star.
I use the Sphere. The Sphere is much better for racing IMO. It is much smoother from bottom to top. You can program either ESC without a PC....
