Yes you are right but I wanted one more flight and tried the short cut. Not to short.
I have found if you can get a 3/8 steel rod it works better than the wood 3/8 dowel. This is only my second boom...

Any one found out that the V-MAX 7 is harder on blades and tail booms than the V-MAX 6? I broke a blade today at (68 degrees), almost cut boom in half. it did break in half when I tried to straighten...

Tail boom guard. I wrapped foam around tail boom, coke bottle plastic around that then black electrical tape. WORKS GREAT.
Only cover area were blades hit.

When you decide you need a new crutch think about building it backwards. I did this so that the exhaust dose not hit the main gear or spur throwing fuel everywhere. Its almost ready.
