RE: Tiporare questions

Thanks for the info guys. I'll stop worrying and get'r'done (a Southern expression).

RE: Tiporare questions

Rangerman,

If installed the way you have drawn it, there certainly would be some difference in the travel of the two pushrods. I planned all along to offset the servo enough to center the servo...

RE: Tiporare questions

David,

Thanks for the thoughtful analysis. You were correct in your assumption that the retract servo will be forward and the flap servo aft. I'm using a Hitec retract servo which has a "short"...

RE: Tiporare questions

Rick,

Thanks for the input. I do have the aileron servos outboard in the wing. It's only the wing mechanical retracts and the flaps that I need to drive from center section servos. Your mods...

RE: Tiporare questions

David,

I seem to be hung up on installing the retract and flaps servos in the wing center section. I have concerns about weakening the centersection with too large a hole so my mind is working...

RE: Tiporare questions

Nice looking Kwik-Fly. An Air Force buddy (we were stationed in Germany) was flying one when he taught me to fly RC (early-70's). A deBolt "Jenny" was my first RC model. You never know what the...

RE: Tiporare questions

Of course "tailspin" is free to do whatever he pleases with the NIB Tipo. My suggestion was not intended to benefit me... I'm currently building my own vintage original Tipo and I'm not interested in...

RE: Tiporare questions

In fact... you should list it on that auction site we all use.... so we all have a shot at it.

RE: Tiporare questions

Tim,

SPA "Legal" is any pattern plane produced/published prior to 1 Jan 1976. The Tipo came along a few years later and the Illusion later than that. I'm, however, continuing my Tiporare build...

RE: Tiporare questions

David,

Since the Tipo is NOT considered SPA legal.... (I went round and round with them on this issue), there's no way the Illusion could be SPA legal.
