Well skis are back on and ready to go. My buddy had the washer for the engine and just need to balance a new prop. Not really any snow in the forecast for now.

I will get some pics tomorrow. I cut about 22-24" off the front of the ski for the front skis and the back ski will be about 14". I have the fronts ready to go after I fuel/water proof the wooden...

Thank you all for the encouragement and advice. Its easy to give up on something like this and helps alot with you guys pushing me along.

I scored 2 pairs of skis at the goodwill for $13....

Actually the field is alot bigger but it kept getting stuck and I couldnt get it to go more than 40 ft. The skis would probably be fine on a frozen lake but not the snow. New ones are in the works...

The snow was powder and that could be some of the problem. The curve on the front of the ski only lips up about an inch so it probably needs more lip. It was trying to dig in and the engine didnt...

As expected everything didnt work out perfect. It seems like it will be stable enough but its lacking power. The front skis could probably be a bit bigger also. I am thinking about forming some out...

Well I packed it up and took it to the field to try out. Was trying to get the engine started and my servos went haywire. Going to change the receiver out and maybe try again tomorrow.

Got a tiny bit of snow today but winds blew it all away. A frozen lake would be awesome but the temps wont stay low enough for them to be safe here.

No they dont but its a good idea. If I had a larger budget I could do a bunch of cool stuff but I am pretty much just using spare parts from the shop. I think I have about $40 in it so far. :D

I agree John, there is alot of stuff I wont know til I try it out. I have the back ski on a different channel than the rudder since I dont know how much the ski will actually steer it. If it ends up...
