What did you decide on the blue lights for the engine room? Iknow on our boat the engineers were the only ones that still had white lights after dark. Everyone else went to red lights.

Ivote for military grey or drab. Make it look like a PTboat cradle that was grabbed for Dauntless when she was pulled out of the water. One of those "unexpected stop" type of things. Maybe Haze Grey...

this may or maynot help. But figured Iwould post it, seems that some people build their own smoke generators to supply the required level. Only drawback is that it really makes fog not smoke...
