RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

You will be very hard pressed to shave down to 14 lbs. I think the average is around 16. Mine was about 16 1/2 with a DA 50.

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

Well, after 4 years it was inevitable. I put my DA50 powered Patty in due to a dead stick. Was trying a new 3 blade prop and adjusting mixtures when the motor died. I was high enough to save it but...

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

But there are so many other, lighter 40 cc or larger motors out there. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a Zenoah engine, I have had a few over the years. They belong in certain types...

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

CG is flexible to a point, if you want it to land a little better and fly more stable, move it forward. If you want it to be more acrobatic and do tail maneuvers, move it back but it will be harder...

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

If you have read any of this long thread you should know that the G-62 is way to heavy for the PW. Good Luck with it but my DA flies this plane like a trainer. All of the options and possibilities...

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

Well, I am glad to say that I started my 4 season with my DA 50 powered PW. It really is a great plane and it the favorite of my fleet.

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

Mine is on it's 4th season as well. DA50 powered, stays in the trailer. When I am having a bad day, Patty comes out and all is well again.

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

Be careful on the GP CG machine, the sheeting is rather thin. Make sure someone is helping you to hold it up and it will work fine. Also you should balance it laterally.

To all new subscribers,

This will probably be one of my last posts to this thread. Having been with it from the beginning, I have been flying my DA powered PW for 2 years now with a spare under...

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

A little on the heavy size, IMHO. I have a DA-50R in mine and love it. I know that the 60 has been put in Patty though.

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

There is one for sale in Miami with a DA50 in it. Unless you are going to go with a big Moki, the Patty isn't really suited for glow. There are many gassers in the 50cc range that are good for Patty....

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

Tom,

Why don't you try going to a 6.0 volt battery for the receiver and move both batteries as far forward as possible. Did you use a servo for your choke? If not add one up front, it will serve...

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

Mine are in the fuse but are about 12" apart. Use the MPI heavy duty switches with the battery meter built in.

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying

Put the plane together and then try it. The wings make a big difference as well as the canopy. It helps the airflow over the fuselage.
