Your right it should. Do you have another servo you can plug in just to try it ? any servo will do

I know it`s a long shot, but is there any chance you`ve unpluged the leads from the gyro to the receiver at some point and just put them back in the wrong way ?

Do you mean the servo is not zipping back and forth when you power up, telling you, your good to go ?
