RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Mine fit ok, however on my last ARF I had that problem. Just take some sandpaper and wrap it around a dowel. Make sure it its fairly round and just sand the phenolic tubes down.

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

I think you should go with the 625's and maybe the 645 on the rudder. I have used that setup on a funtana 90 with good results. You will notice the speed of the 645....its slow, but it will work...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

I would definitely say CG, what does yours do hands off in inverted flight?? Mine is pretty well hands off upright and inverted. If it drops a nose inverted move the CG back. Glad to hear all went...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Zman, I think you might have a hard time getting it to balance but perhaps if you placed your battery up on the firewall and your throttle servo way up there too you might be able to get away with it.

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

No problems here with the CA hinges... problem with CA hinges is that if you use too much CA they get brittle, too little and they may not hold, but when done right they work fine. I wouldn't use...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

110 for sure, keep it light. You'll love the plane, just don't forget to add glue!! Oh and to re-do the firewall.

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Mix, higher nitro will always produce more power (more combustion), thus more heat.

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

I've flown one with a gas engine in it, Evolution 1.6 and pipe. Crazy power, but it wasn't great in anything other than some pattern/IMAC stuff. Just too heavy, the YS110 and OS120AX are the engine...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

I wouldn't be worried about the weight. Personally I would of flown the thing first, if it flies great who cares what it weighs. I've never weighed mine and probably won't because I just enjoy...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Dan, best way is just to roll it inverted and see if its close to hands off. With mid-wing planes it doesn't matter upright or inverted. They are ment to fly neutral regardless of attitude.

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Dan, to be honest I don't remeber nor do I think I actually measured it. I tend to just head out and fly the plane and balance it based on its flight. I like to push to a inverted 45 upline and...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Dan, balance is a personal preferance. I like mine to be neutral in both upright and inverted, ie no down required when inverted. As for expo, again personal choice but I like about 35-40% no more...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

As I have suggested, you may want to try an APC 17X6 or 16X6. Really get that Zinger off of there... mix some paint with it, or something. ;)

Nobody take this post the wrong way, just my...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Can you grind down the mount to let you slide it a bit further? I didn't have an issue as my firewall/engine box were already ripped apart and put back when I got the plane.

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Guys check your elevator throw, not just endpoints but all the way through the full range of travel. Your endpoints could be alright but maybe they are taking different amounts of time to get there....

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Well I finally snagged one of these from a friend and threw my gear in it from my Funtana90. This was the first time I flew one since I had a chance to fly the prototype last year. I must say I...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

Glad you didn't take that the wrong way. I think I tached my 120 at 8800 with the 17X6 on it, and that was a bit rich. I've found spool up is pretty quick too.

Oh well so long as your happy,...

RE: Maxair Revolution II Velox

I would try an APC, my F90 has gotta be over 9lbs. My past experiance with Zinger is that well, very bluntly put, they suck. I find they are super inefficient, maybe with shaped tips it would help...
