Ed or Kevin Hello,
Joe Lewis Here You replaced my Temp/RPM board at Toledo.
I had a problem today 6/29/03, I have about 15 to 20 flights at 5 to 6 minutes each on the 1200 by now and up till today its has performed good. Today I put 3 flights on and on the third flight about 1 to 2 minutes into the flight the motor started to loose thurst. It was still running in the air so I came into land but did not make the runway. Nothing was damaged on the motor as I shut it down when I saw I wasn't going to make the runway. I ran the motor up after words and it ran fine reaching peak RPM according to the green L.E.D. I came home put it on the test stand and ran it again. It ran fine the secound time also. The battery for the flight was fully charged and so was the RX battery. It just slowly lost thurst in the air with the throttle at full. I do not have a hand held unit to check it with. I did check the fuel filter and it was clean. I am running kerosean from Sheets and mixing it 6 Gallons to 1 quart of exxon 2380 turbo oil. Any help would be aprriciated or do you think I should ship it to you.
I won't be able to fly it in a plane for a while as I have to repaire the nose and left wing.
Thanks
Joe Lewis

For the benefit of any forum lurkers, we have discussed this matter with Joe and believe the problem to lie in a restricted fuel line within the tank system. We'll update this one as new info becomes available.

Kevin Hello,
I did pull the tanks out of the jet and found that one of the 24 oz. tanks was pushing down on the brass tube vent line. I could also see where the tubing actually cut a circle into the the tank.
this was the only tank out of the four I have in the jet that I did not cut a v-notch in the the vent line. It seald against the tank not allowing any ventilation thus sucking the other tanks shut and starving the motor for fuel. The jet will be ready for Michigan.
I have done four other run ups on the motor on the test stand, I ran it for 6 minutes each time at full throttle and it has been fine. I am certain the problem was with the fuel tank.
Thanks for you info
