Default TP 820CD Charger & A123

I have a Thunder Power 820CD that I would like to use to charge my A123s. My batteries all have a JR connector balance lead as I have been using a Celpro 4 charger. The TP charger will allow me to balance the batteries when I need to. I have thus far been unable to devise a way to charge the batteries using the 820. I build a lead that would plug into the 820 and that didnt work. I then used the main leads just a I would with a LiPo battery...that didnt work. Called TP and they couldnt help. Anyone have any ideas?

A123 2cell right? 3 pin balance connecter? If I understand can't you get a balance extension, then cut it & splice in a JR LEAD? Hobby king sells 2 cell balance extensions. That's how I run my balance lead to my cockpit decks, then charge with my tp820

Bluebus...got a link to the hobby king extension. Does it plug into the 820?. Built an extension from the 2 S port on TP board to the JR charge connector on the battery. Set up the 820 for LiFe 2S and just get error messages from the 820. 1 picture is worth a 1000 crossckecks.

Had the same problem in the past. Look for several solutions but couldn't find one. Opted for buying a new charger.

I love this charger. It's so easy to use that I ended buying two (2) more. Very accurate and the touch screen makes it almost impossible to make mistakes. I charge my Life 3800 mah batteries with no problem.

Not at my computer now, but I'm guessing if ur adapter extensions are built & soldered well & your getting an error message than polarity is probably incorrect

Roy... that charger is sweet. Maybe is not the most powerful in the market but the fact that is so easy to use, was enough for me. Plus also you can use with your normal power supply or just plug it in the wall.

I have the three (3) chargers at home and I'm planning to buy two (2) more in order to leave in my shop at the club.

By the way, Team Orion just came out with two (2) other models that are more powerful but they are still not available in the US (only in Europe).

You have two options. You can take a 4-6 inch extension and reverse the polarity on the signal and the positive. You can also splice a jst-xh connector with the correct polarity to an extension as pictured.
