Default 9Z Discharge Cord

Can the 9Z Tx battery be charged through this cord,as well as discharged?

I have a cord on order, but it doesn't seem to travel well.

Thanks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Dave

Hi Dave,

If by "discharge cord" you are talking about the DSC/charge adaper for the 9Z FUTM4243, this item is not for the 9Z transmitter, but for the receiver that you are using. It mounts to the side of the fuse of your plane, and allows you to charge and use the DSC (DSC capable receiver only) control to set your plane up.

If you are talking about the Battery Discharge connector, HSP78050, you can use this to charge and discharge your battery from your 9Z but you must still remove the battery from the transmitter.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Hi: The above arrived at my LHS today, and I was surprised to see it is only a connector. From the description I read of it some weeks ago I was expecting a cord (Connector and wires attached).
I found it strange the connector was encased in heat shrink. What's the point because the heat shrink has to be removed to attach the leads?

I guess it is up to me to determine polarity when attaching the leads?

I am being optimistic here, because I do not even have the 9Z Tx yet,but it will be forthcoming early in 2004.

Thanks,,,,,,,,Dave

PS Should have listed the part #. It is HSP78050

HI Dave,

No, you do not remove the heatshrink. When you pull the battery out of your 9Z you will see a connector where the row of pins inside the 9Z connected to it. You will insert the HSP78050 into this, this will then allow you to use a charger/discharger/cycler with this battery. But to do this you will need to also purchase the round connector that plugs directly into the battery case and this part number is HCAP0101. Nothing actually hooks up to the discharge connector itself.

Krysta: Many thanks, but a wee note with the connector on how to use it would have been nice.
You could put one in for future dummies??

Dave
