My Futaba 8uap is beeping at me. It started and I did not know what the beeping was for. Then I figured out when I tapped on the module it would beep. The only thing I could find in the manual was a loss of signal beep that did not come with a read out on the display. I took the module out and put a few pieces of tape on the sides to make it a more snug fit. That greatly calmed it down, but I am afraid of it now. I have never experienced a loss of signal while flying but I have 2 $1500 planes on this transmitter and I do not want to take any chances. It still beeps on occasion. Do I need to send it in? What would it take to fix it, if you can estimate? Thanks for the help.

Hi Lovemyedge,
The beeping is definitely a warning sign that your module is not seated properly. I would get this sent into us here at the Service Center as soon as possible.
For information on sending this in and flat rate fees please see our website at:

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

I'd be willing to bet that the problem you're experiencing is caused by the pins connecting the frequency module to the transmitters board. The older 8AUP's pins would break the solder joint causing intermittent contact. Later 8AUPs and all Futaba Super 8s had this problem fixed, and also added epoxy stabilizers around the pins to prevent this from happening.
