Hi,
I have 3 Futaba transmitters. Because of the diode protection between the charging jack
and the battery, it is impossible to cycle the battery in the radio. In the case of two radios,
it is very hard to remove the battery because the leads go behind the case and the connector is not accessable. I have installed a "J" connector between the battery termination and the circuit board so I can cycle the battery in place. Will this harm the
circuit board if the power switch is in the "off" position and will this work?
Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy,
Many people do exactly what you have done, and it has not caused any problems with their radios.
The best option however is to purchase the bypass diode from the Service Center and either install it yourself or have it installed by an authorized Service Center. The part number is: HSP78368.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
