Default Help a begginer with a Mt2

i have broken my MT2 in accordingly with the book and tried after tried to run it on the ground but i have a problem
when i start the truck up i pull the trottle for it to go but the wheels dont move

To get it starting i have to pull full throttle just for the wheels to start moving very slowly. Even when i put it on grass and pull full throttle it doesnt move -- I dont know what to do to fix this can some one help me please?

Is the engine revving up when you pull full throttle? Does it seem like your clutch is slipping? Do you need to tighten your slipper clutch? Is the carburetor not set right?

Sorry for bombarding you with so many questions, but can you try to answer some of these? Then, I think we all could help you a bit more.

Thanks!

In a Case like this its process of elimination.
Start at the Begining of the line. Make sure Servo is moving the Throttle, make sure Carb is doing what it should, Like Jamxx said is the Engine Revin up? Then move further down the driveline to the Gears, then to the Clutch, then to the Differential...Possibly even your CV joints. I know I thought I blew all my gears B4 but after closer inspection it was just a loose CV joint, therefore all the power went to the one Wheel that wasnt spinning. There arent to many compnents on an RC, eliminate what ya can

While you are there, pick up a racing clutch. Well worth the money. If the engine is revving up, it sounds like it is either the slipper or the clutch. It could really be either one. Try tightening your slipper first; that's the easiest thing to do. Do you have the RTR version? If so, it could've just been loose from the factory. Check out the manual and see how to get to it; it isn't hard at all. You need a 10 millimeter open-end wrench, I might add.

okay i checked the manuel and looked to find a slipper but coudn't find that name. But i found three posible solutions can u tell me which one it is

one says to turn it left if it is rough at full throttle and it says turn right if low top end, slow response,

the other says adju;sting idle( turn left to decrease Rpm and right in increase)

The last one says low speed needle adjustments

Can u tell me which of these ones i need to turn and which way? thanks

Also is there a simple body part i can get to increase the noise.......i have a dirt bike and love when it rips the noise out so i was hoping to do the same with my car

Thanks! MT2 Monster

I really don't think it is your carburetor adjustments. If you can at least get it running and not stalling, you should see much performance than that. At the richest setting on my MT2 that I can have and it will run (though barely), it will still hit around 20 MPH.

The slipper clutch IS in the manual. The instructions to build it (or, take it apart if you follow the instructions backwards) are on page 15 and the adjustment section is at the bottom of page 11. Check both of those and see what your slipper looks like. I have mine set at "rather snug", as in somewhat tight, and it seems to work pretty well. You'll just have to experiment with it.

As for your noise, there is one part that will really increase the noise, and the performance at the same time! It isn't a hard install, and if you decide to get it, I'll walk you through installing it. Here's a link: [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSP47&P=RF]click here[/link]. You may also need [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDDU1&P=RF]this[/link] and I think [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2476&P=7]this[/link] will work to hold the pipe on. I don't know what kind of screw head it has (Philips head, flat head, allen screw), so make sure you have an assortment of all of these before you try that. Here's a picture of how I have mine set up, I have a screw through the chassis, a bolt that doesn't fit the screw (too large) under to boost the height of the hanger wire, and then the hanger wire is set on top of that, and then a nut that does fit the screw is securely tightened on top of that. I also had to saw off part of the hanger wire using a Dremel tool (if you don't have one of these yet, I strongly recommend getting one; they are VERY handy) and bend it using some needle-nose pliars and a vice. It wasn't hard at all to do, just make sure you don't cut it too short. But I saw a great performance increase and it was relatively inexpensive, and also a lot louder too. It is definitely louder than a weed-eater now. Much louder!

If you need any more help, just ask! I'll be happy to as will everyone else on this forum.
