I just put my new o.s. .18 cv-rx in my evader and it is a little sticky. I pull on the starter and the piston is really hard to move. Is this normal because this is the first engien that I have ever put in a car? I thought it said in the manual that the piston was tight until in get running at normal temps. Also on my old engine a dtx .18 when I turn the flywheel the piston opens. How come it wont do that on my new engine? Also my old engine has a roto start on it and my new engine has a pull.

Ok that makes me feel better. I am hoping to get enough time into today to break it in.

they are doing road construction at I55 and I80, on the interchange.. there are some pretty massive dirt hills there, I'm thinking of stopping on the way through there one night and tearing some stuff up.. we're talking serious air off of those hills

If you haven't already broken in the engine then hear is a tip. To make it easier to turn over just preheat the engine with a hair dryer and it should start much easier.

Also, how do I know if the flywheel is on tight enough?

Ummm when it's tight it's tight enough...only you can tell that...you break the shaft it was too tight....hey enjoy doing backflips from a stand still with it...I do with mine...also getcha alot of room cause they zoom with os .18's on them.....only thing mine ate up was the stock slipper clutch pads but easy fix for those are toss 2 of em on it...takes up that slipper gap and gives ou snap off the line....spurs are cheap and don't break alot unless ya land on concrete or asphault wide open...who needs em anyhow...0 slip is the way to go
