I think for those engines you're going to need some pretty significant modifications.. Bullet-proof diffs and drivetrain, and a good clutch for starters..... There's a company in Germany called nitro-mods(www.nitro-mods.de) that sells really heavy-duty upgrades to deal with that kind of power - but it costs big bucks.... In the States I don't know actually who makes comparable stuff......

Yeh, those are crazy engines. Especially the RB, lots of torque. You will go through diffs and gears very fast unless you upgrade the drivetrain dramatically. Better to go with something like the STS D30M or an Axial 28, maybe even a Nosram/LRP 28

The entire drivetrain, every moving part from the clutch bell to the wheel hexes will need to be upgraded. I'll try to list for you, pipe in anyone if I forgot something...
Clutch bell, spur gear, transmission output drivecups, driveshafts, differential spurs, spider gears, differential cases, diff covers would be a good idea too, diff outdrives, front and rear axles (dogbones), wheel hexes. You probably don't need to do all of this at the same time, start with a few and see how the rest hold up, replace them as you destroy them would be my plan.

New Era make some good stuff, they make some titanium axles (dogbones) which look amazing. I'm sure the site that patrick listed www.nitro-mods.de has some good stuff too, those germans REALLY bash their trucks.

I haven't tried the STS, but I sincerely hope the RB would RAPE it 6 ways from sunday. It's one of the strongest engines full stop. I bet it revs higher than the STS too.
EDIT: It's pretty expensive with the pipe... http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/11368
But you can buy it on it's own, or with roto for a bit cheaper (300 something).

I'm seriously into RB engines, I've seen them run at every level, and it seems no others are so strong for so long, they hold great tunes as well. Can't fault any of the few I've had, wouldn't buy anything else. All just my personal opinion.

The RB 928 doesn't have the best tourque, it is more of a Truggy engine with more emphasis on midrange and top end as well as fuel economy.. they are also very tricky to tune... In a heavy vehicle like a Savage my money would be on the modded STS 30 ( basing off my own modded STS 30's) ......... the Nova 28 is a different animal altogether, it has insane bottom end tourque and a very broad powerband, not as much top end as a 928, but its bigger power down low will likely make for a faster MT motor, it is also a pig on fuel and was designed as a MT motor..... Another beast of an engine is a Picco 28, which again in a MT i would take over a RB 928 due to the Picco's massive tourque, it makes a true 2 HP on the X-Dyno and has a screaming top end, and as well the Picco 28 is a very good platform for mods....The STS 30 is the cheapest and will obviously lack the durability and longevity of the other motors, as well it is tricky to tune, but it does have an insane bottom end and midrange and a very solid top end.....in a heavy MT you want tourque, and the Nova 28, Picco 28, STS 30 have awesome tourque, with the Nova and Picco having the strongest off idle snap.. the RB is going to have less tourque, but make up with a screaming midrange and top end......
