Hi,
I am making the step into racing with my Savage, my local club has a beginners Savage class, I have been a couple of times but I am out of my league when it comes to power.
I am looking for the "Ultimate" race engine for the Savage, The rules say I have to run a .25+ and limited to not over a .32.
I have spoken with my "LOS" and they have suggested the Novarossi .28 (I cant remember the particular model but it was £300+ price range.
I will spend up to £500 on the engine as the guys at my club have told me they can go up to that sort of price.
What does anyone suggest??
Stuart

Single best engine if you can afford it is a RB modded Novarossi 528XR 8 Port.....................there is nothing else on the market that can come near that engine..............trust me i own 3

Hi,
Thanks very much, I have looked at that engine, It looks great. But a quick question how do you start it???
I have a buggy box which I use with my buggies, but can you get a truck starting box??? If so do you have any links or names of manufacturers??
Cheers for your help.

No that motor is a toy compared to what im talking about..........they get me wrong the STS motors are good for the price but it in no way compared to a 528...
About starting the motor the 3 i have i bump start them since i have them in a team losi muggy, kyosho inferno st, and a kyosho inferno gt............but on the savage u will need to either buy the pull start OR the tiger drive roto start since you cant use a bump box on a savage........if u use the roto start you will need to reverse the polatiy of the roto start becuase of the way the gears of the back plate are set up.......
MAKE SURE WHEN YOU BUY THE NOVAROSSI 528 THAT YOU LOOK THAT IT SAYS 8 PORT THE 3 PORT LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME!!!! BUT IT SUCKS MAKE SURE YOU READ 8 PORT WHERE EVER YOU BUY IT!

Hi,
Thanks very much, I was wondering how you bump started a Savage "LOL"!!
I will be heading off todoay to order exactly that engine, I have been looking round the net and it does seem very good, I hear a lot about the Axial .32 but the price seems cheap in comparison to the Novarossi, and I am a firm believer in "you only get what you pay for"
Is there and particular breaking in methods that suit the Novarossi engine I should be aware of?
Cheers
