Default Trasmisson problem savage x 4.1

HELP ! I have broke in the engine and yesterday was doing the tune in and things were going good it was leaning out real nice and starting to show good power doin wheelies and all still running a little smoke at full throttle and all, it finally dawned on me this thing isnt shifting into second gear ?
so i got the the allen screw the bottom one and started to turn it out ( to make it shift earlyer ) well after about 2 turns and still no shifting ? now it is hard to start it feels like its lockup and binding when i try to start it ? looking at the clutch it looks like its got a load on it when i try to start it up it runs for abour 5-10 seconds then quits. also when i turn the clutch and try to adjust the transmission it now sounds like metal to metal ? dang it the thing was doin so good to i was a happy boy then this ? any help would be great dudes !

relax buddy

a new and better transimission from savage x ss is only $20 from ebay.

try to take yours apart and see what that problem is

as far as the engine goes, your engine is still brand new, sometimes it can get too tight. try to unscrew your glow plug a little and try again.

hope this helps

you may have backed the set screw out to far and it is rubing the inside of the second gear.it sounds to me like a tuning problem.make sure the engine is getting the rpm to shift before you mess with shift timing.

First off bro.
Your trans is prolly fine. So is the rest of your truck, most likly....

Pull it off and check the gears and shifting unit. This is a brand new truck that you just got. If you havnt heard it shift at all yet, its most likely just something simple.

Like stated above. You should check to make sure the set screw is still fully seated inside the unit (So its not binding.) Put it flush and do a 1/16th inward turn. get your engine running up to temp (since its still brand new) and then start driving. Make some LONG passes at about 3/4 throttle. So the rpm is SLOWLY accelerating, and then you should be able to hear the shift. Sometimes the truck shifts sooo quickly when you hammer it you cant tell that it already shifted into the next gear.
Report your findings back to us.

Thanks dudes for the help.....heres what had happend
The trans. was shifting so fast, soon, and smooth I just didnt notice it...*&^%$#@!?...I got it shifting later now and all is good in wheelie world...lol when i slowed down to hear it after getting it running again it worked... trouble starting was a broken shoe holder pin on the fly wheel and spring... I put in a new flywheel, got it free cause there not supposed to break ! and I upgraded to alum. shoes and heavyer springs made a big difference I highly recommend it welp thats it man now im still tuneing the motor in any advise im trying to keep it sounding good, nice idle, a little smoke, and temp below 250 ?
