what weight oil do you guys use in your stock savage shocks and what springs do you use?
on a side note. does anyone notice their savage uncontrolable at wot with the stock tires? (as in if you were to make a moderate turn, it woudl flip over?) (PS i have stock tires on it)

HPI red springs with 25 wt oil actually does me pretty good for handling, and CAN handle jumps. you'll just get used to smackin the skidplates. for JUST jumping, stock black springs and 25 or 30 wt in the stock shocks, and you'll be good

I use 25 weight oil,and triple rate springs from rcraven.
It bottoms out only on the big ones 10 feet+ or so.
If your usin the stock tires, and your getting to much roll over...put a piece of tape on the inside of the rim to cover up one of the air release holes. The air will still release, but not near as quickly, and will make the tire feel kinda like its inflated....making it much more rigid.

I had the same problem as you have with WOT and rolling over
The guy LHS says I am doing too hard turn.
Which yes, quite true, but it is either that or like run into things.
Had a cunning plan, use 40 series wheel and tyres (Big Joes)
It sure fix the roll over problem with those, but it also creates others
Namely heavy wheels, means more stress on the suspension, drive train, and brakes.
Am starting to get things like tie rod poping out or bending and all sorts
But on the whole, I think the 40 series wheels is worth it.
It still does roll over, but not as much now, I actually can make emergency turns now.

If you want to fix the roll problem with out putting heavy HP eating tires on get some off set wheels and lower the truck. I run 25-weight oil and one red and one green each corner. If RC vehicles did not bottom out on big jumps you would be breaking a lot of parts and blowing shocks. This is why they are designed to bottom out.

On my past jumper I ran the stock black springs with the LCG fuel tubing shock mod and an extra 1/4" tubing on the lower shaft w/40wt oil. I also used the Vantage racing HX-3 wheel and tires. I never had any problem with it rolling over. In fact after I did this it would actually kick the rearend around in a full skid. I was totally pleased with this setup, never blew out a shock nor did they leak, this is after many 15ft+ drops from jumping at the local BMX track in Louisville and the local skate park here. It went through hella punishment and never gave up and since then others with Savages around me have done the same with the same results. Good luck and let us know what you do and how it turns out.
