Hi,
I want to run a fan (or pitot) pressure system on an OS46VXDF / Thorjet fan combo and I wondered if anyone has any advice ? I was thinking of fitting a "backplate" style pressure fitting into the fan shroud so that the nipple is on the outside and the fitting is in line with the fan blades so the centrifugal air pressure is directed into the fitting (iyswim). Is this the way it's done ? An alternative is to mount an "L" shaped fitting more rearwards than the blades and have the fitting face forwards towards the blades, would this be preferable ?
Many thanks,
Boo

As far as i know with the OS46 and Turbax combo, you better put pipe pressure. the turbax dont generate enough pressure. So on my little mirage, i have pipe pressure. But i dont know if it's the same for the Thorjet fan...

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Can you (or anyone) tell me approximately what pressure level in PSI I can expect for piped pressure and for fan pressure ?
Thanks,
Boo

Pitot 1/2 to 3/4 psi, 2 to 4 psi for pipe. If your covering up poor tank location fix that first.
Then use pitot. Model engine do not respond to throttle well when force fed fuel.

Thanks all for the replies. I will probably go for piped pressure. My reason for asking is I need to run the engine without a pipe to determine the open exhaust RPM before tuning the pipe (this is according to the instructions I have found on the web). I thought fan pressure would help with this but I will find another way...
Thanks again,
Boo
