I am not wanting to start a flame war but i was looking at a SIMJET 1200 18lb.
I don't see many out there just wondering if something is wrong with them.
I know they are small and have good thrust just want to make sure before i buy one.
they are
not cheap for just 18lb's of thrust if they even do that..... but are small and light weight.
You may PM me if you rather with replies good or bad , too much money for a mistake.
Thanks in advance guys.............

I second the suggestion to look into a Wren SuperSport - 18lbs thrust and I think it's the same size/weight as the Simjet. Also, Wren is having a 10% off summer sale now...

The Wren and the Simjet are, I THINK, based on the same design elements; wheel/compressor/CC. That said, I'd favor the Wren even owning a Simjet. The Simjet's good and Sterner's upstanding for support, but Wren's just really got it going on with production and support without question.

Hi pst,
Chuck is correct in that the original bases of the SIMJET-1200 had linage to the Wren 54 as it used their combustion section and Turbine wheels. However this is no longer true and all components are of the Simjet-1200 are of Simjet manufacture.
This info serves no value at present as the 1200/18 is not currently available as it is not in the production schedule until late this summer at best as I have been advised and I have had no updates on 1200 production recently.
There are many 1200's of both the older 13# and newer 18# engines in use with a very good performance record.
Sorry I cannot provide a more informative outlook for this much desired engine.
I wish to reafirm that I have full parts inventory to support 1200's in current use.
Best Regards

Bummer about the availability as I've personally always liked the machining of Simjets. They seem to be quite popular overseas and the 1800 had a great price to start out with...
Kerry, is there a good replacement ECU for the Sonic 8000 kit engine available?
Thanks,

Hi Chuck,
We are curently utilizing the GASPAR 604 which has MANY new features.
At issue is that your entire engine will need to be "rewired" to make use of it including a new RPM board.
Your looking at approx. $700 for the complete conversion w/ labor and new 5 vdc solenoids.
The cost does not justify the conversion benefits except in cases of crashes where all electrical equipement has been destroyed.
I still support the older SIMJET 2002-D2 ECU's as well. 2) of my 3) Simjets still utilize this old ECU and I have no plans to upgrade as they are working without issue after 5 years of use.

So Kerry
Since they are so hard to get and not another run till Summer
Was there something Wrong with the early 1200 18lb?
I hear mixed reports, Something about Brgs not being right or something?
Not putting out as stated on the thrust. or is that all rumors ?
Thanks!.......PST
