Default UR modellbau Kithira test flights - first impressions + videos

Hello guys,

A good friend of mine (Mr. Nessy Gil) bought a UR Modellbau Kithira from Germany, all built and RTF from Mr. Martin Rose who built the plane.
Here is the website for UR modellbau:
http://www.ur-modellbau.de/Modellaus...a/kithira.html

The plane is equipped with a Jetcat P-120SE turbine, all Hitec digital servos, Twin Lipo setup on PowerBox sensor, and a Sullivan Skywriter smoke pump, all controlled by a Futaba T12Z Transmitter.

Last Saturday we got to the Dimona air strip in Israel at 06:20AM to start preperations for the test flight. Range checks and ground handling tests were done at first, smoke pump tests later, and then we got to the test flight, with yours truly on the controls.

Here is a video of the test flight:

Here is a video of Flight #2 - Please watch the landings on this one, i gurantee its something you do not see every day.

To top the day off, Both Mr. Nessy Gil and Mr. Amir Assal did their first solos with their jets - Nessy with the Kithira and Amir with his Cermark F-16J.

My impressions:

1. this plane is a joy to fly, no bad habits noticed what so ever ! flys stable and steady.
2. the plane is fully aerobatic including nice knife edge capability.
3. wing loading is extrordinary as can be seen on the 2nd flight landings.
4. sullivan smoke pump works very well with one crimped 1\8" SS tubing.
5. Jetcat SE acceleration is AMAZING.
6. Tiger scheme is VERY visible in the sky !

It was a wonderful day, i can only wish for more of these wonderful, happy days !!

Yes Martin's son (Kevin) is a good pilot as well as Martin.

We first met Martin in this year's Arava 2007 airshow he was part of the swiss aerobatic team - he is a great guy please send him my best regards !! [8D]
