Default KS MTW for less noise

I'm looking at buying my first can setup. I am hoping you can give me some input on which is quieter and which is better for lack of a better term. I am looking at the KS86 or the MTW TD75K.

I heard the MTW last night on a DA50 and I was very impressed, quite quiet etc.

Any input is appreciated

Thanks

Size and weight matters. Better to buy the size that fits. doesn't do much good to buy a big quiet muffler if it doesn't fit into the plane. I went with a pair of KS86's because they have a smallish diameter and aren't too long. Being not too long is important for getting header length correct. My experience has shown that header length is way more important for achieving good performance than what cann is on the end. With the correct header length the cann muffler is nice and quiet, however now the prop is howling like a banshee
All my planes are now flying with the Bud Bottle mufflers. They give a slight (50 ish rpm's) increase in power over 3W and KS 86 canns but save lots of weight, about 5 oz per pair, while maintaining a nice quiet sound.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in the middle of building so size is not an issue. I read the beer bottle thread but was under the assumption that they were still quite noisy. I am new to canisters, I can not afford to try them all out

There is a KS 86 I can pick up close to me but I have to know if it is as quiet as the MTW or so?

KS is a rear exit stinger and the MTW is front exit, MTW can is a hair larger by 1/4 inch diameter!

Thanks again
Steve

They are plenty quiet, evan without ripping the prop makes more noise from about half throttle and up. Same goes for the other 2 cannisters I have 3W and KS, with KS being a bit quieter of the three. With either, a OS46 makes more noise till the prop takes over.

About 600 rpm gain on the 3W56. And about 800 on the BME 115.
