Okay so i got a USED HPI nitro rs4 mini (96 civ HB body) -- anyway i was playin w/ it.. & i undertand tha working of most of it.. although i dont know what i did..
I think tha clutch might be shot.
Okay here we go.. tha clutch was slipping....aka it was glazed(from what i understnad) ~ anyway it was workin fine for a couple of days.. then today... it just locked up.. nothing...
It runs fine(engine works) - but tha clutch doesnt spin - belts dont spin - gears dont do anything.
DO u just need to get a new clutch? SHould i just invest ina 2spd clutch & everything should be fine?

a 2 speed is a transmission not a clutch.
that being said, a 2 speed will only ad to your beginner problems right now. no offense.
learn how the 1 speed works and why it isnt working now then upgrade to one later if you like.
onto your current problems
when you start it up and give it gas does the engine rpms go up but the car doesnt move?

Well much like my Civ HB(full size) my toys are $$ pitts.. when i break something - i replace it & other parts that need a upgrade aswell.... i cant stand tha lil plastic tube ehxaust. im uupgrading tha PIPe on it... Tha wheels/tires are shot-- so im replacing those...
& tha front suspension is a lil banged up.. so thats all being replaced aswell.. + the addition of a FOAM bumper..
so give me a hand on what i need to do to make tha car move.

well 1st i glazed it..
- as it tha clutch was slipping.
- then i killed it.. it got caught on like a uneven surface w/ tha engine @ full throttle & tha flywheel that pokes thruogh tha bottom of tha chassis caught on somthing.. hense destroying tha clutch..
this is what i did-- whateva im goin to rplace tha hole assembly -- unless some1 has a better idea...

I am not familiar with rs4 mini clutch but if it is the same as any other nitro clutch (i.e. shoe type) and it is plastic, then you can upgrade it to a racing grade clutch.
Does the clutch bell spin freely when the engine is not running? Does the engine die when it is running and you put the car down on the ground?
If the clutch is shoe type, your springs might be bad also.

here is the HPI manual on the clutch assembly.
unmount the engine, take off the clutchbell and inspect the shoes to see if they are intact. replace what you need and it should be good to go.
the entire manual can be found here
