Default MR-12 Break in

I just got an MTX-3 and an MR-12. I have been searching
posts on this board and comming up with a few different
break in ideas. It seems like people are saying to break
it in leaner than a "normal" engine and at full throttle.
But I went to the novarossi website and Mario Rossi
says to break it in rich and stay in first gear? Those are
sure two poles of ideas. I am concerned becaure it was
pretty expensive and I don't want to ness it up.

Read here if you are concerned. It talks about engine break in procedure.

I have followed this and never had a problem.

I have the same engine and figure that the manufacture's break-in instructions couldn't hurt. I'm still breaking mine in. It may take a bit longer starting with the rich setting but it shouldn't do any damage.

I read some posts that said that you can ruin them breaking
them in too rich. That having to pull the con rod back down
if it dosnt fire as opposed to having combustion push it down
is bad...?

You need to have a good supply of fuel/oil during the break in period. What you might want to do before starting the engine is to have the piston down (free play) as opposed to tdc. I use mt12 and rb x12, followed manufacturers and the document found in the link I mentioned. Never had problems. Also, remember that you "might" use more than one glow plug before you are done with the break in.

Default The only way

You will find that engine break in opinions are like *****holes, everyone has one.

Just follow the manufacturers instructions and you will be fine.
If the engine is very tight to start with and wont turn over, I suggest you heat it up with a hair dryer, it should roll right over then.
Suggestions like cranking it over with a drill and forcing the flywheel with pliers are from people who have no clue what they are doing.
You will ruin your engine by forcing it over.
