Hi All,
My GS storm cause a bit of noise from the stock pipe. I wonder if you guys know how to low it down or any other quite pipe that i can replace the stock pipe. My neighbor just complaint that my GS storm cause such of noise from the engine. Pls! help.
I also owned a Tmaxx. The pipe noise is OK, no neighor complaint when i run it.

Just find a better place to run it... Once your under their skin, you know that even the whine from an electric will tick em off.

If that is not an option, Try:

1. Pointing the Stinger more downward, the ground might help absorb some of the sound. (Might be hard on a buggy)

2. I was once told that a small amount of tube on your exhaust will quiet it down, and keep fuel off your car. Don't know how true this is.

3. Depending on what engine your running, there should be 100's of pipes to choose from, but honestly, I have never heard a truely quiet big block buggy.

exactlly, to hell with those neighbors! in my neighborhood the noise ordinance doesn't start until after 9pm. you should find out your noise ordinance and take the whole pipe off!! and see how they like it then lol.
my neighbors started to complain as well but i told them their is nothing they can do unless i am running my nitro r/c's after 9pm.

If you plan on staying there. Make a deal with the nieghbor. Negotiate a run time.

don't negotiate anything! this is america! what happened to our freedom! doesn't your neighbor cut his grass, use a weedeater, etc.... if so tell him that the noise bothers you and you want him to stop. see how he likes that!

When I first got my Savage the neighbors called the cops every time I fired it up.The cop told me that he can't do anything but SUGGEST I stop until after 10pm because thats when our noise ordinance starts but he said after 10pm all he can really do is tell me stop and if I don't then he can write me a ticket but they have to warn you first.I hate my neighbors anyway because they called the cops on me for having my stereo on really low while I was washing my car one day so SCREW your neighbors I say piss them off until the noise ordinace starts and if they don't like it they can move or close the windows.

i hear ya rex, it couldn't be sais any better,to hell with the neighbors!!! and enjoy the nitro hobby no matter who can't put up with the noise

yeah! and if they still complain throw a dead racoon in their yard with a note stabbed into it that says "you"

I hate neighbors...One night my neighbor across the street comes out screaming and throwing rocks at my car because it was too loud (granted it is loud, but thats out of control), so I called the cops on him. Needless to say we don't speak anymore and I love making noise to piss him off whenever possible. In Sunnyvale you are allowed to make all the noise you want until 9:00 or 10:00 pm, I would imagine San Jose is similar.

buy a big v8 and run it with no exhaust on a sunday morning at about 9:30 am and see how much they like that. they will quickly forget about ur noisy rc car lol

im lucky cause my neighbor across the street over a shovel head harley and fires it up at 8 am on sunday mornings.
if they can take that they can take my nitro engines.

the people who complain are just like the people who dotn give out candy for halloween. do what you would do then and egg his house the next time he complains.
if he complains again do it again but a few days later.

then after he comes out and has to clean off all the egg call the cops on him and say he is wasting water(works well during a water ban )

Thanks you all for respond. The noise from the pipe is less than the grass cutter. This guy just rent the house next to my owned house. When i run in my backyard, he also complaints it.
I guess he'll call the cop soon. What should I do when the cops stop by? just be ready. Pls! give me some suggestion

I used to have a Serpent Impact M2, and run it couple times but the noise is OK. I just sold it to one of our member in here.

I just bought this GS Storm, and it's .21 engine size, then the noise starts out very loud. I guess i should run my Tmaxx and strom as the same time to make him adapt with the big noise first then I'll run the storm alone.

I don't think there is anything they can do unless you are running the car REALLY late or REALLY early. Just like mikesnitrorush said, doesn't he cut the lawn? If so, then complain when he does that because it makes too much noise. Just be ready for the police, but I do not think they will do anything.

Solo Racer, I never runs it early or very late. I used to run it
couple hours (3 hours) from 12 - 3 or from 3-7

if you rent you might be getting a call from the landlord if you piss him off really bad.

I have the problem, with the noise. Luckly one of my new neighbors was into r/c planes back in the day, and he saw my storm, and i give him a 2 weeks before he gets one!
Cops cant do anything, but if you want to really piss off the guy, start it up and ask the cop to clock it, do this only if you get a cool cop.

There are pipes called "quiet pipes" You should do some online research, I asked a guy about how quiet his car was he said The oval track in the bay area requires them. It ran really sweet, he was racing 1/10 scale clay oval in placerville (Actually Rescue California very near placerville)

If he gets a quiet pipe then he will be giving in to his neighbor.It's his house it's his yard f@#$ his neighbor.As lond at it's within the time of the noise ordinance then his neighbor CAN NOT do anything but complain.After my neighbor called the cops on me for running my savage I went out at 3am and ran it up and down the street untill the cops showed up and all they did was ask me to stop and told me not to run it so late at night.My neighbors even got so pissed that they complained at the comunity meeting a few weeks ago and they still CAN NOT DO ANYTHING about it.It's my house and my yard. I pay for the house and I can do whatever I want on my property and so can Calvinsj2003.

Sorry for trying to help the guy out with the question he actually asked. I must have misread his post or something, Its good to see you all venting though, Far to much american money goes into drugs like prozac and zoloft.....

Forgive me if I sound angry 1stplacerace,I did need to vent a little bit and i'm sorry.I just know how frustrating it is to spend all this time and money on something and then have someone complain about something as trivial as noise and try to keep me from enjoying the fruits of my labor.I've been working allot lately and I don't have any tracks or places to run close to me so I run in my yard when I can find the time and I know how annoying it is to have the police show up because the neighbor is a jackoff.

don't piss your neighbor off to bad especially if he has any kind of connections in your area police force or city government .he could make your life miserable just like the exowners of the track were i used to race.they weren't able to run on the offroad track for fear of the police being called and them getting a ticket even when they were doing nothing wrong.for some reason police cars showing up at you shop (except do-nut shop) isn't very good for business.

people are *****holes everywhere. near the little place where i run is a street that me and my friends tune the cars at. yesterday a guy asked us if we live on the street, we said that we live a few blocks over, so than he told us that we should go there and annoy our neighbors instead of him. we said sure and stayed there for another hour. i think people like to ***** cuz it makes em think they got power....
