Default alright, so i need some advice please

alright so ive had my sc10 for about 2 weeks now and have probably driven it 6 times. im running a 2s 5000mA lipo with all the stock electronics. yesterday it acted kind of weird and no its not working. so my lipo was dead yesterday and i threw it on the charger for 15 minutes just to put it around my garage for a couple of minutes. there was hardly any power at all and it gradualy got slower until it just stopped and only the steering would work. this is weird to me because i thought the power was supposed to be the same all the way until the end, and then just cut off. so i charged my battery last night and plugged it in this morning and only the steering works. yes i check the motor wires, a few times actually. i reprogrammed the speed control, and still only steering. and also, so when the car is at idle turned on, the led light is orange right, and when you reverse or throttle the light goes away. its still doing that, if that helps at all. im a noob and would appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

If this is the SC10 RTR then the motor or ESC might have taken a dump. I heard that some the early tracks where over geared from the factory and it caused the electronics to over heat. Connect the motor direct to the battery and see if the motor runs. If it does run then the problem is most likely the ESC.

ya i actually connected the wires to a 9volt and i got it to spin the wheels but it was really hard to get a connection. i had to keep moving the wires around all over the connectors and i got lucky a few times and got a connection. i heard that sometimes dust can get in the motor and cause this, and if you put a few drops of soap in a cup of water, submerge the motor(not wires), and then connect the battery and spin the motor underwater, that it can help.

what would you suggest? if it was the esc, would it just be fried, or could it be fixed?

have you run it through any water cuase it might be short circuiting.

If u did then just take it apart and dry it out.

wat voltage is the motor and esc rated at??

If the batt is to high of a voltage it might be going into thermal shutdown.

Try the esc and motor with a lower voltage like a stick pack ni-mh or ni-cd and see if it works.

well im a noob to rc cars and so ive kind of relyed on my buddy who has been into it for about three years. he runs the exact same pack in his slash and sc10. he's running the stock setup currently too. so im pretty sure im good on the battery. no i havent gone through any water. the only water its seen is when ive washed it. and i take all the electronics out when i do, and barely hit the motor with any water at all..

that battery is fine to run with that. 2s lipo and 6 cell nimh is almost the same voltage wise. other than whats been advised I would verify that the charger is working and that the battery is still good.

ya thanks. the battery is brand new, the charger is brand new. its a hyperion eos 0606i, so i think its pretty legit. and  plus the esc isn't flashing, which would suggest a dead battery, right? so im thinking motor, but only after 5 drives? or the esc, but i don't konw what i could have done to cause the esc to go bad..

from the sounds of it, its all pretty new. it appears something has gone bad, it happens even with the best brand names. you need to go through the task of testing each of those items - esc, motor, battery and charger, maybe even the receiver. at least you have a buddy you can trade parts with to test each one.

try running the motor straight off the battery.

If it works then i'd say that your esc has screwed itself

i tried running it off a 9volt but it was on and off, it was hard to get a connection. are you talking about running it off my lipo? isnt that pretty risky, like if the wires touch?</p>

I'll say its the ESC 100% as I just had the same problem.... I bought a new rc10t4 and the esc did the same thing esc would lite up light go out in reverse and throttle and only steering would work.. Sent it off and got it back today and it works perfect. I had an enclosed note telling what the problem was and they had to replace a couple of glass caps.

Just make sure you include a proof of purchase and as long as its still under the original factory warrenty you'll have no problems. When I sent mine off it took maybe about 4 days turn around from the time they received it. They will ship it back to you via UPS but dont expect a tracking number. I tried my best to get on and could not find anyone that would give it to me as they stated thwey have had problems of people changing the addy and then saying they never got the package. You can call and they will tell you when it is supposed to be delivered. Anyway you should just have to send your esc off and they should fix you up.. here is the addy:

Your warranty should be at least a year maybe more... If you have had it a couple 3 weeks you shouldnt have any problems getting it fixed or replaced under warranty.
