Official Traxxas (please build a) 4wd Stampede thread

I would much rather have a flat bottom 4x4 then a high centered abomination like the Stampede.
Remove the extra bumpers, add some Masher 2K's and a truck body. Instant 4x4 Pede.

It just simply won't happen.
The design of the pede/Rustler/Bandit have been around for I know at least over 15 years. I don't think Traxxas will touch a design as old as these.

Ya, casue my first RC was a Pede and that was back..... 1995 or 1996 and they had already been around awhile. I just bought another Pede off Ebay only 3 months old XL-5 version, and the only thing different was the mounting plate for the ESC cause the ESC got smaller. so 10+ years, one plate, dont think they are gonna do anything with it soon.

I disagree somewhat. I think we will see a monster truck version of this chassis in the near future but I'm not sure it will be called a Pede. Before they do that I think they need tofind a way to get this chassis up in the air another inch so it has that true monster truck feel.

There would be a market for it. It should be cheaper than the E-Maxx and would definitley be better than being 2WD.
My son is 10 and he loves off road, but he feels like the E-maxx is too heavy. You see, we get two trucks so we can run together, and we at least like to get two runs in when we decide to drive the trucks. So for the E-maxx, that means charging 8 packs, for the Pede, it only means charging 4 packs.

I emailed Traxxas about a monster truck made from the Slash 4wd chassis tonight. I eagerly await their response.

I think the point is that 2WD is simply cheaper. Stampede is pretty cheap. Add a 4WD, it can easily cost as much as an EMaxx which totally defeats the purpose of these beginner electric trucks.
It is not going to happen. Unlike the Slash where there is a huge market suddenly for the Short Course thing.

Slash 4x4 is supposed to be more race than the Slash 2wd. More adjustments etc. So take the Stampede VXL which sells for $290. Add a battery pack (charger?), 2.4ghz radio and make it 4wd and sell for ~$400, same price as the Slash 4wd. I for one would love that truck knowing that I will save money with a single battery pack and 1/10th electronics. I think it would be worth $110 over the Stampede VXL.
