Dug an old Traxxas Cat out of the basement and was going to get it running again. I need some new tires so Iguessed that 2.2" tires would fit the wheels I have on it. That was incorrect. Ilooked on Google to try and figure out my wheel size but I am not sure how to measure it. Anybody know how I can figure out the wheel size of this old buggy and which tires will fit it? Can Iuse these 2.2 tires on it? Should I consider getting some 2.2 wheels and try to run those on the old buggy? Or should I just try to trade these 2.2 tires for something that will fit the existing wheels? Thanks! Mike

You probably won't find any tires in current production that will fit.

He used HPI Super Star wheels with Tamiya Frog Re-Re hex Adapters for the rear.

Frog adapters are a perfect fit. You can run any wheel with a 12mm hex

You're going to laugh when you see these pics. I wasn't always nice to this Traxxas Cat back in the day. Imodded the chasis because the posts on the chasis where you screw down the speed control servo cracked. So Icut a piece of wood to use as a spacer and then used the Dremel to make slots for a zip tie to feed through the chasis. Then Iused the zip tie to hold the servo in place. It looks like hell, but it actually works.... Last night was the first run of this car in 20 years. Everything on it is 20 years old with the exception of my piece of wood, a zip tie, the battery, and the front shocks which were broken. Amazingly Iscored a pair of original Traxxas Cat front shocks still in the package off of Ebay. I am using my 20 year old Futaba Attack-R for a radio. No body in these pics. I ordered a 1/10 buggy body by Parma but it hasn't arrived yet. The original body was completely trashed.
I also threw in a pic of the Traxxas Stampede VXLI just bought used off of Ebay and one of my messy work bench. Hope you find these entertaining.
