I just got the Speed Gems Titanite 15t Motor and am running the stock esc and gears. Right now im running a 19t Pinion gear. Will this be bad? Do I need to get a 13t? I ride in all dirt and jumps. Also, How come the rod coming out of the motor is so small? I could barely get my gear on it! Any help would be great

not sure what you're looking for here. It won't be bad as long as the temperatures don't get too high (I don't know what "too high" means for brushed motors, lol). That is the best to tell what gears to use, temps. As for the short shaft, that is a problem I ran into as well, the titan shaft is really long, get used to the shorter ones, as they were on 3 of the 4 motors I used in my slash, the only long one being the stock titan.

Yeah I just wasnt sure if a 19t pinion was to big and would burn the motor. Cause i used the 23t in my titan and burnt that. I didnt want to do the same thing on a $40 motor.

I'd stay with a low tooth count, even 19 is on the higher side. How many teeth is your spur?

Well, 19t isnt really too high. Check your motor temps often when you run. If your motor is getting hot (if you can't hold your finger on it for 2 or 3 seconds) try going with a smaller pinion, like a 15t or so.

Okay thanks. Ill try that. It didnt feel to hot today until like completely after I was done. and that was after like a battery

general rule of thumb is 2 teeth below the turns of the motor so you where correct thinking you would need a 13T pinion. 19T will burn it up if you run it for any length of time. don't rely on the touch method for measuring motor temps. Get a temp gun and make sure you keep that motor below 180F

13-15T range would be best for your high turn motor in off road use.
