I just purchased a tamiya txt kit, it hasn't come in yet, but i need some information on any hop up or changes i should go with, right from the start. I was wondering if there are any weak parts about this kit that need to be addressed. Also, can someone please recommend a radio set up that works well with this truck. This truck will be for mostly backyard bashing and light rock crawling. Oh, should I make this kit 4 wheel steering? what are the advantages? Thank You!

Congrats! I don't know what to recommend (don't own one), but here's a thread that is Lunchboxer's TXT build:

He put on a ton of option parts, so it might help you see what's out there, what you might like, etc.

As others have said, it's an awesome truck. Not as fast as many ither trucks, but it's really durable and powerful. As with other Tamiya kits, they have lots if great hop up options.

thanks everyone! I ordered a ball bearing kit for this truck, i may also get the skid plate for underneath. Not sure about a radio yet. The 2.4ghz models look good. they seem much easier than dealing with crystals.
