I am wondering, are there any differences, other than the "hold" feature between the Equalizers and the Matchbox?

There are several features that are different. One is the end-point hold you mention. Another is the calibration. This function calibrates neutral to match your transmitter. What this means is that when you reverse a servo its centering does not change. It also provides a more accurate calibration of the linear function that defines the modification of the end-points. Another feature is the servo priority mode where the servos that have not been calibrated are turned off. This means that if you have 3 servos connected to the 3D and you start with servo A the other two servos are turned off which keeps them from fighting servo A. With the Matchbox you have to unplug servos B and C while working on A. When you move to servo B, servo A will be running but servo C will be turned off. Of lesser note, the auxiliary power is controlled by an electronic switch instead of the plug that is in the Matchbox and there is a failsafe mode for FM transmitters. I hope this helped. I just bought two 3d equalizers for my 2.6 YAK. There are two 8411 in each wing halve. Do you suggest to use the auxiliary power input? Only one or both? Both would not be a problem because I use a powerbox professional. All I have to do is to crimp two new leads. Did I read the instructions right: the AUX input has to be activated in the Options Menu?

Hi Joe,
For two 8411s you can probably do without using the Aux input. If you were using three or four I would definitely recommend you use the Aux input. If you still want to use the Aux input then you can use either or both of the Aux inputs. Using two will give you a little more power to the servos because you will have less voltage drop in the wiring since you will have two in parallel. The Aux input is enabled in the option menu. I adjusted one wing halve yesterday. Absolutely no problem and very easy to do. Especially Endpoint Hold is very helpful. But that sensitive 8425 (=8411) servos will never cease buzzing. Even one milligram initiates buzzing. I think I have to live with that.

I am glad this went smoothly for you. The digitals are very hard to get all the buzzing out over the entire range. I always shoot for having no buzzing at the adjustment points and then live with the intermediate being just a little off. The problem is that the potentiometers they use for position feedback are not precision. They will vary in linearity from unit to unit so unless there was a way to do 4 or 8 intermediate adjustments on each direction of travel there is just no way the servos will exactly track each other.
