Default Smart-fly Tx module dead in the water!!!

Anyone have any troubleshooting tips for a Smart-fly ign. unit that shows no signs of life??? The receiver unit seems to work (the light comes on when I shine a flashlight on the fiber-optic tube), but the transmitter unit is dead in the water. Pleas don't recommend the obvious - I have tried both rx wires on the unit in 3 different ports on the receiver and also tried an FM receiver - no joy whatsoever. I am looking for some voodoo magic here!!! This thing is ticking me off!!!
BTW, I am using a 9303 and have it programmed on the trainer button and the atv is set to 150%. I have used this before on a different plane with success. This is also a brand new unit that has been sitting in the package for 6 months...

And, yes, when I plug a servo into the aux4 channel on the Rx and press the button the servo moves. And I have tried reversing that channel, even though it shouldn't matter. Still no green light[:@]
It seems to me that I got one of the very few bad ones. I shouldn't be surprised - everything else on this build has been something of a disaster!!!
I already called you guys, I have posted here, and I will call you tomorrow. I am hoping you can get me one via next-day-air Fedex morning delivery so I can have it by Friday. This is the only thing I am waiting on for a maiden fight!!!
