The stock esc in these boats (and the sw26s) are straight junk..... A small seaking should be a nice positive upgrade http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=7377

The turnigy marine esc's are re-branded hobbywing seaking. The are a great bang for the buck. I run the seaking 120s and 180 and have great success with them. Another place is hobbypartz and they normally have free shipping and you usually get the parts in 3-5 days which is a lot quicker then the china warehouse of HK. HK's USA warehouse is pretty fast though. This is the exact same esc that HK sells, just not re-braneded...http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-c-seaking-35a.html

RE: widow maker esc ?
For this hull or a different hull? Problem with the widowmaker is the stock location of the motor is wrong should be more aft and the hull doesn't handle much speed very well or turn very well for that matter. Theirs only 1 guy I have read that has this hull running well and did A LOT of work to get it running that way. With all that said the stock motor and this esc will be fine together. If your talking about a different hull you will need to add more information to get a accurate answer...

Some people have converted those hulls to brushless in the past. The hull wasn't ever really designed to run that fast so it can be unstable, but you can make it work. I have the same boat except I converted mine into a rescue boat to safe my downed brushless boats, that was the best thing I ever did with that hull. All I did was change the stock esc out to a better brushed one and slapped $10 worth of pvc to the front of it and damn I love that thing. Has saved my butt a few times.
