Aqua Craft Motley Crew
I didn't see a thread on the AC Motley crew so I thought I would start one. I just got it the other day. I am waiting on Lipos from Hobby King. I ordered 4 - 5000Mah 40c Zippy's. The charger is a Protek 610 Duo from Amain Hobbies. I guess it's their house brand. I hope it works out well. It's not the Hyperion Duo that I normally like to use but I wanted to keep my initial investment back in to the hobby around 800 bucks and this fit the budget just barley. It's dual 200w chargers in one. It will do 200w/6s/10amps at max. Even if I start to mes with larger 4s-6s packs I only charge at 1c anyway so I should have enough charger here to last me a while.
The hull seems to be fairly well made. The "tub" design is a little different and I am not sure how well I like it yet, but it makes things pretty easy to work on that's for sure. Seems to have plenty of room too, so I really can't complain thus far. The paint is pretty good, but not as good as I had hoped. The decals are really thin and covered with a clear coat as far as I can tell. This looks good, is durable and makes things nice for taping the hatch down (which is required BTW for lack of any kind of a latch...which is a plus in my book).
Anyway, Here are some pics. I am ordering a m445 prop for the boat and I also installed the OSE/Octura flex cable because I am told the factory one comes apart and I don't want to mess around. I guess the m445 that's S&B'ed will get me 45-50MPH right out of the box.
As soon as I get a chance I'll have her in the water and have a video posted.
Anyone else have a AC MC?

I've got one and so far I love it. It handles great. Just ordered a 1445 prop (should be same as m445 but plastic). Couldn't find a m445 is stock anywhere. Boat handles choppy water really well and is pretty fast out of the box. Just ready for more speed now.

The stock prop, a detongued x642 and a Grimracer 40 x 52 3 blade and an OSE 45mm plastic prop are what I have tried - I think I liked the Grimracer prop the best, but the flex shaft broke, so that prop's at the bottom of the pond.
I do have a x445 waiting to be sharpened and balanced. I plan on detonguing it to turn it into an m445 as I can't find an m445 in stock anywhere.

Stinger is right,
a 1445 is nothing like an x445 or an m445, although all 3 of them have the same diameter and pitch they are quite different.
the x445 his medium lift general purpose prop,
the m445 his the same has the x445 but with the ears removed to unload the prop, and
the 1445 his a moderate high lift for hydros and deep V's.

You can modify the prop by removing some of the tongue area away. This may help. Lifting props do take more power to turn as they increase thrust in a wider cone.
You can visit the [link=http://radiocontrolinfo.com/ElectricBuild/propeller.html]Propeller[/link] page if you are unsure of the Octura or Prather style prop you plan to purchase. As mentioned already, each one has a different purpose.
