Ok I did another bench test this morning with different esc but the same receiver, batteries and motor. Motors ran perfectly, could rev them out and ran for as long as I had that trigger pulled.
Obviously it must be the esc as the others worked without a hickup.
I have sent the esc back to Hifei for repair.
I will keep you guys posted of the out come.

Hi Peter,

I noticed in your opening post that you set the ESC's at a soft cut-off.
I accidently had done this at one of my ESC's and the runtime was 'dramatically' short (2-3 minutes), compared to the runtime at the hard cut-off setting, which allowed me to run until the LVC cut in at 3,3V per cell.

Now that a new ESC seems to have solved the issue, I was wondering if that one was set to soft cut-off aswel, or not?

Regards, Jan.

Hi Jan,

It didnt make a difference whether it was set to hard cut off or soft cut off as the esc's were doing the same thing, allowing the boat to run for approx 3 seconds the slow down. I tried a number of different settings and still got the same result in the end.
I normally run my boat with the esc's set to hard cut off. I only ever run my boat for approx 2-3 minutes then bring the boat in and recharge the batteries. Ive never run the cells under 3.7v. I only tried a different esc that I had but it wouldnt last long with the set up I have in this cat. The esc that I tried was a castle HV120 but I need to run HV 240.
Ill just wait to hear from Hifei and see what there have to say.

Peter

OK, just received a email from Michelle from Hifei and they have fixed both ESC. Apparently both esc had a resistor which became oxidized and that was causing the problems.
I will let you guys know how they preform when I get them back.
A big thanks to hifei for the quick response, but the real test will be when I get them back into my boat.
I have some plastic dip here at home, do you think when I get my esc back I should give them a dip and waterproof them?

My esc's arrived today. All I can say is that you cant beat Hifei service. Super quick service.
I will run the boat in the next day or two and let you all know how the boat ran.
