As you can see on paper they look alike. The deal with TP power is to put both though the same test until there toast! This should be a fun test.
I will be using a boat and 2 different custom 1/5 buggies to do this test. Anything you want to see please let me know.

Not sure how your going to do a fair test but the sss motor is not a HOR racing motor they are just a retailer the motors are made by TFL hobbies. The test if done properly might mean something if both motors were the same size and kv but theyre not .

this test is a consumer test so Horracing is how he branded these sss line of motors. SSS is how I bought them and is how most are sold so I think I will stay with what I have started the post with.

That is a good motor. I run it in a 40" Promise Hobby Kevlar/carbon mono. Runs well with just a 452 prop but, can take more prop. Ran out of time testing this year and it's too cold now. I might get out this weekend to test one last time to try some larger props. I use a SF240 Pro esc.
The motors are going to be very close to TP Power but, that is to be seen.
Twisted starts a thread in a boat forum and then says he will be doing the test with buggies??? WTH is going on? I don't like to bash anyone but, it would be really nice to see him finish one of his boats run it and show it on video. He had one short video of his twin Zonda that lasted a few seconds because it flipped at the doc and he ended the vid with an expletive remark I can't repeat.

That's fine. You may notice that these motors can turn even larger props. 450 x 3 is a good start, watch run times & temps. You may be able to turn a X455 2 blade or more depending on the hull size etc...
