Default proboat 9 blackjack

Hello all, been a while since I've been on. The kids re-sparked my love of rc with the proboat 9" boats I got them to race in the pool. They come with TINY 7.2v 260 mah nimh batteries. The problem is, the stock chargers are horrible. I have a hitec x1 model 41165. I'very had 0 response from hitec support email, and everything I've found online contradicts each other. Any one have any input as to settings for the x1 and or charging setups for such a small battery? Amp rate, timer, etc?

If you can charge it at .1 amp it should charge in about 2.5 hours. If the battery gets warm it is near full charge. (or bad)
I have used a 300 mah 2s lipo in mine. It came with no battery so I can not compare to the 7.2 volt but the 2s lipo works fine in mine. ( it is a Losi battery from a Micro rc car)
i have only run mine a little so I am not familiar with all the characteristics of the boat yet. Don

I got it figures out a while back. I've since converted to brushless. running 430mah 2 &3s lipos.. the stock 3-4 min run times just weren't cutting it on those tiny nimh batteries. I should have just bought the hull and built the boat. The only things left stock are the hull and rudder & prop.

It handles great stock. Plenty fast for a pool. Plus you can set throttle limits on the TX for younger kids. Perfect for pool racing
