I have an old apache 24 that I robbed the stock drive train out of to keep an old shockwave 26 running for nostalgia reasons. So it had me thinking I converted an old shockwave 26 with an ep-1 outboard years ago and it did pretty good! Why don't I tinker with this empty hull instead of trash it! So I've gutted the boat added floatation foam rounded up odds and ends. But am having trouble settling on an outboard to power it. I ordered an h2o style cnc outboard and 60a speed control from hobbyking but their global warehouse takes forever!! I've since read up on it a bit and it seems they have a habit of eating flex shafts. I'm debating canceling that order or returning it if a better set up is available. Does anyone have experience with the hobbyking outboard or can recommend a good alternative. I'm not trying to set speed records a good cruise in the upper 20's would do. I have many 2s and 3s pack options from other boats laying around.
