SPEED CONTROL FOR LARGE MOTOR
I am new to RC controlled boats. We are building a small barge (5 ft long, 100 lbs) for work to measure water quality via sensors and data loggers. To propel the barge we want to use a Minn Cota 12V 30lb thrust trolling motor with brushes. Max ampere draw from the lead acid deep cycle batteries is 35 A. We have a 2 channel ProPo RC unit.
The motor has a mechanical speed control that we would like to replace with an electronic RC controlled one (forward and reverse). Can anybody recommend a suitable ESC? If we have to cool, we would prefer air cooling over water cooling.
Steering should be with a high quality servo. Any recommendations?
Thank you for your assistance

RE: SPEED CONTROL FOR LARGE MOTOR
Jochen
I have been making these boats for some time.
Our current model weighs 50lbs and has a runtime of 2 hours and can be operated by a single person
We can also custom make hulls to suit your aplication
