Hyroplane
Hello, I have a home made hydroplane which is very similar to atmos or miss budwieser http://www.microhydros.com/stephan_lindenau/a5.jpg. I am having trouble with the placement of the hardware. Is there any good pictures or sites that show the best placement for this type of boat? I am need to house 20 AA bateries, i am thinking 2 sets of 5 on each side. the dimensions are about 450mm long 200mm wide and 40mm high. I am most worried about weight distrubution. I ahve seen alot of people with alot of weight towards the front and others with it around a third from the back. Any help?
Thanks kyle

Hi Kyle,
Most hydroplanes have the COG just behind the sponsons to allow the rear to be lifted by the prop.
Could you post some pictures of your boat, that talks a bit easier.
Regards, Jan.
P.S.: 20 x AA? What motor do you use?

Hello Jan,
I don't have any avaliable pictures at the moment. The center of gravity is just the postion where the boat would balance if you put your finger under it, right? So if the batteries are on the COG and slightly ahead of it and the motor is behind it, then that should be a balanced boat? What sort of propeller postion would you recommend?
Kyle

Hi Kyle,
If your boat is similar to the Lindenau design (I can see why, in view of the large number ofcells you need to house...), you can put the prop in a similar position, just behind and under the transom, so the rear runs on the prop only, preferably using a flexcable and a strut to be able to make adjustments.
But I don't know if the rules allow that.

Please look at this website http://213.239.214.134/lindenau/cms/...ang=1&client=1
And this one http://www.boattroubles.be/Rigger.htm
They are both about the Lindenau riggers.

I know it's two years old , but I use the search tool of this website , ... it works :-)
My Lindenau Executive is ordered at Stephan Lindenau. The boat has a 4 month waiting list. It's like ordering a Ferrari haha
