Thanks for the info on the bec I will keep that in mind, I have a friend who deals with mhz he is running the micro iceberg with a brushless setup in it first time I saw that thing run I wanted to go electric. And Ron I have even got some of the older older speed controlls the ones that use servos now thats old. My futaba still works though but I will retire it and upgrade I think it might be time LOL.

BEC's can cause some interference and glitching, so some say to stay away. I say fooey! Yeah they might, but I've never had a single problem with them and neither have many others. Some hardcore racers will tell you to stay away, while other hardcore racers who want to save every bit of weight possible will tell you not to worry about it and don't run extra weight if you don't have to. I think if you run a good quality FM radio, or Spektrum, then you have very very little to worry about.
Me, if I can run a bec and not have one more thing to worry about (did I turn the switch on after I taped the hatch?, does the battery have a good enough charge not to die on me in the middle of the lake?) I will.

Just to let you know the dude in tech support at Mhzusa.com told me to stay away from BEC, I forgot to ask why, but that is what he said. In case you don't know Mhzusa is a boat racing site that has been around for a while and are believed to know what they are doing.

If you are going to be running SAW, id run a seperate RX pack, BEC i have had issues with in the past, and plus if you buy a 207 astro, you can use it in another boat later and dont have to buy another whole ESC, also it will handle pretty much any motor you throw at it on 6 - 12 cells. perfect for a 700 and 12 cells also- E.G if you ever get into LSO or LSH
Also i run a dubro kwik switch, the hole packed with silicone grease to ensure a watertight seal on my rigger, and the same system on my nitros. saves a lot of hassle, if im running for fun, ill tape the hatch before i leave home, then i can turn radio off to change props without risking toosing too many fingers
