I got a NQD highwind and it leask from the shaft on the transom, sealed it with some silicon, and now its pretty water tight..
infact there were no ingress of water after 20mins in the water.
but the boat is heavy plastic, so you cant really add too manythings to mod. just threw in a 480 size motor. wonder if it gets any better.
how many cells do you guys use on a 480 motor?
i have been using 2 packs of sanyo AA size 7 Cell in parallel to get 4200Mah.
lasts about 10-15min

but i think i do have a heating issue. coz sometime after running it a while, the boat does not respond and sits dead in the water.
i need another to do reovery.

"Built for speed, the Speedstorm R/C Hydro Boat is ready to race right out of the box! The Speedstorm Hydro Boat is Over 2 feet Long and built to last! The spoiler, rudder and turn fin all work together flawlessly to keep the boat firmly planted on the water. Acceleration from idle is simply outstanding. Its superb fiberglass construction and outstanding engines and radio equipment give you an out-of-box experience on par with most anything you could build for yourself."

How firmly planted to the water do you need to be at up to 15 MPH?

if it goes 15 i will sel my vegas!!!!it goes 15 if you drop it out your car window on the way to the lake!!!worst dollar i ever spent!!..i went to the hobby store and to just upgrade this thing to go 15-20 would cost just as much as the miss vegas,so i bought the vegas instead.just use the nqd as a recovery boat or to show people what not to buy!!!!
