Default overheating high wind problem

i have a NQD high wind and recently purchased a 3600mah nimh battery for it. The hobby shop I bought it from said the battery wouldnt make the engine run faster, just longer. when i took it out I was pleased to see atleast a 5mph increase. after about 2 minutes I took it in to get some weeds out of the prop, and noticed smoke coming out of the hull. I opened it and smoke was coming out of the engines and the radio box. I need to find a way to cool the motors but the mounts restrict me from wrapping any type of cooling lines around it and I dont know what size cooling lines to use. I need some solutions to this problem that cost no higher than 25-$30.

Brushed motors esp the ones that came with the highwind are inefficient which translates to heat.
I just run mine at 2s(8.4v) and i swapped out the 380s with 480s.
you could probably run it for a while more until the electronic burn out.
Then swap it with 2 30 amp esc or 1 50amp esc and you should be having some fun scale speed running NQD.
i use mine as a recovery boat now you can see my old NQD at the end of the footage.

edit: oops! i did not see the $30 limit. now you gonna need to be creative.

How much would the two 480's & the new esc cost?
would you need to get new motor mounts?
and would the new esc's be able to adjust speed or do they just have the no speed/full speed like the old esc?

I could be more flexible with the price, im just paying back a loan & my parents wont let me buy anything untill I completely pay them back( in other words 1 year)

Relax and enjoy what you have for now. you could just do a direct swap ofa 480 motor. and keep everythign the same.

if you go for my option of ESC and stuffs, its gonna drive cost up alittle, simply becuase you will need to get a 2ch Tx, RX and 1 bigger 50amp ESC and not forgeting to make your own rudder
its gonna add up.

edit: forgot to add the 480 size motors cost less then $15 a pair. or there abouts.

I think I might go ahead and try the two 480's. since it will solve my oberheating problem and make the boat go faster. Can anyone who has put 480's in their high wind maybe take a few pics of the motor & wiring. also would the wiring be the same as the old 380 or would I have to get some new stuff, i am open to any ideas and am willing to spend more than the $30 i said before.
also, one of the drive shafts cracked the plastic stablizer and wobbles when i gas it, would getting the new motor make it move so much it could damage something?

where did you see a 480 for $15

the wiring should be the same, that mean the motors has to be contra rotating like the current setup.

as the can is longer, you will need to cut the end of the motor holder and thats it.

you need to look for the motors at hardware shops, as these are really cheap motors not hobby quality.

I get mine from my local hardware store.

ask around the forum, i am pretty sure you will find someone who knows.. ask in plane forums. higher chances of someone knowing.

I have recently decided to wait about a year, so I can scrape up enough cash to build myself a micro-vee)
Ive seen some clips of high winds with 480's and noticed (with my 3600mah nihm batt) my boat goes the same speed, so no mods will be needed as long as I bring the boat in every few minutes to cool.

Besides, I want to save up to fund a micro vee project along with maintaining my shockwave36.
